The upcoming ASEAN Economic Community merger in 2015 provides various challenges to Thailand's SMEs stakeholders. Good understanding, strategies and preparation, therefore, are needed to cope with related upcoming challenges. SMEs who firstly adapt themselves in the market of AEC will grab more opportunities in this opened market. Most SMEs entrepreneurs see AEC as an opportunity to trade. Some of them said that this provides more advantages to their businesses since taxes will no longer exist. However, there are some groups of SMEs which as yet could not find any differences from these upcoming changes. Even with more competition in AEC markets, SME entrepreneurs see this as an advantage to their consumers, since they -the consumers- will obtain the best quality of goods and services.
