After all isolates were examined for colony morphology and
Gram staining using the conventional method, the carbohydrate
fermentation of isolates was tested using API 50 CHB/E medium
and API 50 CH strips (BioM´erieux Co. Ltd., Marcy-l’Etoile, France).
In brief, the culturedmedium of each isolate was inoculated in a set
of biochemical microtubes at 37 ◦C. Their color changes were observed
and recorded at 24 and 48 h, respectively. The recorded data
were submitted to BioM´erieux Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan for identification.
These data were identified using the identification software
with database version 3.0 according to Bergey’s Manual of Systematic
Bacteriology (Claus and Berkeley 1986) as well as the information
available fromBioM´erieux Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan.
