It has been brought to my attention by the accounting office that the cost of such expenditures as office supplies has increased by 25% in the past year, especially on staplers and ink pens. Such information is disturbing considering that the size of our staff has decreased and the amount of production has remained relatively the same. Therefore, there is no explanation as to the need for more office supplies. Thus, beginning next month, all office supplies will be removed from the supply cabinets in the storage room.
Employees needing supplies will have to submit a request form to Mrs. Reagan in the accounting office. Employees suspected of using supplies excessively will be asked to justify their requests. However, employees should not feel that supplies are not readily available to them. Any supplies needed to do your job are available for you use. We are simply trying to be more conservative with our usage.
