The color effect of ‘The Moonlight Sonate’ weave pattern is
presented with three samples in Figure 12. The selection of the
basic colors was done in correlation of the musical message:
black, white and gray for the moonlight night, and two additional
colors: yellow and blue for the night sky. The hue of the blue
and the yellow is similar to the used in the Vincent van Gogh’s
painting ‘Starry Night over the Rhone’ (Dorn, 1990).
Figure 12(a) shows the design of a fabric with warp alternation
of three white and one black threads, while the weft set has a gray
color. The design in Figure 12(b) is more complex: warp alternation
of two ‘gold’ and two black threads and weft alternation
of three gray, and one white threads. The design in Figure 12(c)
involves alternation of two ‘gold’, one black and one white threads
in the warp set, while the weft set involves alternation of three
‘electric blue’ and one white threads.
