According to Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, peas are in the second order of legumes produced in the world with its high yield. Pea is an important food product due to its high protein content. It contains 21.9% protein, 2.34% lipids, 3% ash, 10.4% fiber, 52.5% carbohydrates and 9.88% moisture (Costa et al., 2006).
