It’s not often that we’d choose to fill our plates with something other than food but artist Jacqueline Poirier paints plate art that looks good enough to eat. Whether it’s a spoonful of spaghetti letters, a super sweet doughnut or a slice of pizza with extra toppings, the plates will definitely make you drool.
Poirier’s ‘plart’ made its debut at the signature eatery TOCA at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Toronto where she is now a Resident Artist; painting plates to invite intrigue and spark conversation at the 120-seat restaurant. With over 1500 plates to her name, she doesn’t just stick to food, experimenting with nature, animals and portraits too, although her food plates are definitely the most irresistible.
