In our
study, GFR estimated with the CKD-EPI equation using the enzymatic
method for creatinine was closer to measured GFR in diabetic subjects,
even though it could not bridge the entire gap between estimated
and measured GFR. We have previously shown that CKD-EPI eGFR
based on Jaffe creatinine measurements underestimated measured
GFR both in healthy [35] and in normal range-GFR diabetic subjects,
more markedly in the latter [36].
