Fig. 9 (top) shows the MOID for derived objects at discovery (when at least three nights of observations have been obtained in the course of a single lunation). Almost all the objects will immediately be flagged as PHOs and therefore start the impact awareness time clock. The error on the MOIDs, the difference between the MOID for the synthetic object and the MOID for the derived object, are small after just a single lunation with typical DMOID MOID 103 AU. As more observations are acquired for these objects the impact probability should monotonically increase to 100%.
