The usual software handshaking cable configuration has 2, 3 crossed & 7 connected straight
through (with 4&5 jumpered - or used if hardware handshake lines are preferred) and pins 6, 8 &
20 jumpered on the control side only. If you choose not to use hardware flow control (RTS/CTS)
they must be jumpered at the CNC side.

If you get a “MM21 Inconsistent Error”, it may be because the REGEN procedure was not done
before the option was turned on – go back to step 10 and reformat the memory area. Make sure
that any part programs and macro programs are backed up of course.
Note that the Yasnac will not clear the NC parameters during this upgrade, just the part program
memory. A good backup is always recommended, but unlike other upgrades, this control only
targets the part program storage area when you add the MX3 board in the MM21 slot.
The MX3 board has a special rechargeable Lithium Manganese Di-Oxide (LiMgO2) battery that
bypasses your
