I don’t really have any particular motto in life, but my motto in photography, the standard that I use when taking pictures,
s “Is it funny or not?” The reason is that I feel that laughter is something that transcends generational boundaries, and touches something deeper and more universal.
Laughter has a tremendous power that can fill a place in an instant.
Laughter has the power to make people happy.
Laughter is such a simple and fast form of communication, akin to the kind of communication that exists within a family.
And so I’ve developed this idea, as a father and family member, that “if it makes us laugh, anything is OK!”
I feel that the feelings that connect a family (or friends, or lovers, or coworkers, I’m sure), those feelings of union and solidarity,
come from seeing the same things, hearing the same things, reading the same things, and laughing together.
t all comes from those sorts of simple experiences.
And I want to make everyone laugh, from my family to the people around the world who come to see the photos I’ve uploaded on my site.
I want everyone to have that wonderful momentary feeling of connection, of laughing together with others,
and I want to feel that connection with everyone.
So with that in mind, I spend my days working on my photography, still working from the basic rule: “Is it funny or not?”
