Position Summary
Deep Ocean Engineering, a pioneering manufacturer of remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs), is looking for a results driven Sales Manager. He/She will report directly to the President and is a key member of the Company’s management team. He/She is energetic, achievement focused, and effective. He/she is a committed leader and a team player with a positive attitude. He/She is eager to effectively close orders and is a great communicator working with clients, our international rep network, and management teams. He/she will be in charge of managing company’s sales activities worldwide. The Sales manager will drive the Company’s efforts with passion to maintain itself as the visionary leader in the marine industry.
The Sales Manager is responsible for the following:
•Review customer requirements, qualify customers, and prepare quotations.
•Compassionately and with persistence personally conduct direct sales for factory direct business.
•Strategic sales planning including corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
•Professionally and respectfully represent the Company at trade shows and conferences, and seminars and events.
•Develop and implement channel and partner strategies and programs.
•Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements, interface with engineering and finance for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management.
•Be responsible for implementing product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis, and general sales support.
•Along with finance department and the President, develop and manage the Company’s entire Sales budget.
•Ensure communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives, and meets organizational expenditure requirements.
•Develop annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.
•Direct implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
•Manage, train, and expand a world-wide team of independent sales representatives capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
•8 to 12 weeks of travel per year will be required for this position.
•Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Requirements
•Minimal 5 years of sales experience in the high-tech industry. Marine industry experience preferred. Minimal BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
•Experience in using sales CRM software applications.
•Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales and business (competitive) strategy.
•Extremely effective public speaking skills and presence.
•Formal sales training is a plus.
