Mary: i'm feeling a bit nervous about spending Christmas with your family. Are they wery formal?
Peter: Formal? You must be kidding
Mary: What do you normally do?
Peter: Let me describe the scene, so you can forget being nervous. My parents have this turkey in the yard. It has been there for three years, It's chased by my father for hours every your never caught. The food is bought at tho last-minute at the local supermarket. My mom makes cookies. They are shaped like gingerbread man Traditionally, hands and legs are eaten first. Do the same and you'll be part of family instantly
Mary: Do you have a Christmas tree?
Peter: Ha, ha, this is the really funny part. Normally it's decorated by my sister Judy and her boyfriend, but they're so busy looking at each other and declaring their etermal love that half of the decorations are broken.
Mary: what about presents?
Peter: Yes, we give presents. Every corner of the house is searched by the kids few day before Christmas, so they know what they're getting, but tho presents are still placed under de tree when they're asleep.
Mary: They don't know what we bought them, though.
Peter: Well, I wanted to talk to you about that.....
Mary: Peter
Peter: A tradition is a tradition. They have to know!
