The mean survival rates of B. subtilis B99-2 in microcapsules and
spray-dried wettable powder stored at 25 ± 2 C for 30 d are shown
in Fig. 5. The mean survival rate in microcapsules was significantly
higher (P < 0.005) than that in the wettable powder during 540 d.
At the end of 540 d, the survival of B. subtilis in microcapsules
was reached to 87.53 ± 0.84%; the wettable powder was
47.06 ± 1.49%. These results suggested that microcapsules have a
longer shelf life than wettable powders
