I had a wonderful three nights stay at the Green Park Resort. I called the hotel directly and happened to speak with the General Manager herself, Joy. After inquiring about public transportation from Chiang Rai airport, Joy called me back and offered to send someone to pick me up.
The resort was built at the end of 2013, so everything is new, looks good and smells good. It is located not too far from downtown, but it's very quiet and the apartments are nicely surrounded by gardens.
My room was very spacious and provided with elegant furniture... but I was especially surprised by the comfort of its bed mattress.
There's plenty of parking space if you're traveling by car. I was not, so I was planning to rent a bike... as soon as I mentioned this, Joy had a bike appear out of my room and I could use it for free for the whole stay. That was really helpful as it allowed me to move around in a smooth and nice way.
Joy is new to the hotel industry and is willing to learn, so she asked me suggestions and we shared ideas on what improvements should be made. For example, at the time of my stay the hotel did not have any contact with travel agencies for the organization of daily excursions - I'm positive that they will soon be able to provide this service too.
I spent my days out but when I was back Joy was always there for a warm welcome and a nice chat; she even offered to bring me to the airport on my departure day - this really made me feel like a friend rather than a client.
The Green Park Resort is a beautiful place to stay but its added value comes from its exceptional hospitality!
