Putrescine, cadaverine, histamine, tyramine, spermidine, spermine and dansylchloride were from Sigma–Aldrich product of Switzerland; sodium hydroxide, sodium bicarbonate, aqueous ammonia, perchloric acid used were analytical grade; acetonitrile and acetone for HPLC were chromatographic grade; ultrapure water was obtained with a Milli-Q system (Millipore).
Stock solutions of the six BAs were prepared separately to the concentration of 1 mg/ml in 0.4 M HClO4. All solutions were kept at 4 °C prior to use. Eight standard working solutions, containing all the amines at concentrations ranging from 1 to 150mg/l, were then prepared from the stock solution.
