Biochemical data and PCV counts are
indirectly related to FP, since they are related to variable
conditions of individual animals. Thus, the interpretation
of such information must always be accompanied
by a general evaluation of the health of the
afflicted animals and the diseases concomitant to FP.
The relevance and application of hematological and
biochemical tests in sea turtle health monitoring pro-grams in Brazil rely on the development of basic studies of the occurrence and effects of other natural
and anthropogenic diseases other than FP in the
area.
