3.2. Fruit physical attributes
We have found that fruit weight and flesh rate was significantly
affected by the fertiliser treatments (Table 2). The highest values of
these parameters were observed when trees were fertilized with
MCB. Fertilization with Agrozel, urea and NPK also increases fruit
weight, whereas manure and CAN applications were similar to
those without fertilization (control) and produced the lowest values.
The lowest flesh rate was observed in control. In general, our
results are in agreement with previous work in apricot obtained
by Marinov (1983) and Bunea (1985), and partially by Asma et al.
(2007). However, most of the authors recorded that increasing N
rates resulted in bigger fruits (Sud and Bhutani, 1994; Radi et al.,
2003; Bussi et al., 2003). Third group of authors such as Swati et al.
(1990) found that fruit weight was not affected by increasing N
and/or NPK rates. High dissimilarity among results obtained by
above authors might be due to diverse agro-climatic conditions
