ROS1 (43 exons) tyrosine kinase is start in exon 36
encoded a proto-oncogene receptor with tyrosine kinase at C-terminus as you see in this picture (pointer)
In NSCLC, the frequency of ROS1 rearrangement is about 2 percent.
Until now, seven partner genes have been identified as list here (pointer),
Usually (click) partner gene fuse at N-terminus of ROS1 gene with preserved kinase domain.
Because ROS1 kinase is an oncogenic factor but the exact mechanism how ROS1 kinase promote carcinogenesis is unknown.
At present, the only targeted drug available for ROS1 is Crizotinib.
Let me show you how effective crizotinib is. (click)
