In weaned females, two multivariable models were run.
One model was run with the females (n = 346) having data
recorded for the following factors: number of inseminations
(3 or 4); number of inseminators (1 or >1); optimum
interval insemination–ovulation (yes or no); presence of
ovarian cysts (yes or no) and presence of health problems
or lesions (yes or no). Another model was run taking into
account weaned sows (n = 330) which had information for
the variables weaning-to-estrus interval (WEI 0–5 days or
WEI >5 days), number of piglets weaned (7–9; 10; 11 and
12 piglets), lactation length (LL 15–19; LL 20–21 and LL 22–
25 days), parity order (PO1, PO2 and PO>2) and loss of
body condition score (0.5 or >0.5 units). In this model,
the effects of interaction between PO and loss of BCS and
between LL and loss of BCS could also be investigated
