Prawns have many
nutritional benefits including being rich in protein and contain-
ing very little fat, with the majority of this fat being made up of
unsaturated fatty acids (an essential as part of a healthy diet)
(Gonza´ lez-Fe´ lix, Gatlin, Lawrence, & Perez-Velazquez, 2002).
Therefore, even though prawns have a significant cholesterol
content they can be consumed as a ‘‘heart healthy diet’’
(Bragagnolo & Rodriguez-Amaya, 2001).
