Over time, the term “invulnerable” was replaced by the term “resilience,” and a new area of theory and research was born. Resilience, the ability to bounce back or cope successfully despite substantial adversity (Rutter, 1985), has received significant attention from various domains. In light of this, a concept analysis is necessary to clarify the defining attributes, anteced- ents, and consequences of the term (Walker & Avant,2005).
