EKMEX
This is alarge round or oval leavened bread, often dimpled like an Italian focaccia , but made simply with a plain white dough. Like pita bread , the crust is soft and the bread is used either as a pocket for sandwiches or a scoop for picking up food. Ekmek can also refer to other breads-the word ekmek simply means '' bread '' . In Turkey, you will find numerous longish loaves, sometimes made using whole-wheat, but usually white flour. More elaborate ekmeks, baked in rounds or sprinkled with sesame seeds, can befound in bakeries in the large cities.
