The higher ADMD (which refers to digestibility of all nutrients) may partially mask the digestibility of the protein.
Nevertheless, the rates were very good at over 81 % for ADMD and above 85 % for APD (Table 4).
This indicates that the presence of enzymes such as carbohydrases (a-amylases and laminarinases) in L. vannamei can hydrolyze laminarinases in laminarin from algae and other marine organisms and seems to be more frequent than cellulases, facilitating digestion of the carbohydrates present in brown and green seaweeds.
