In 2013 the first feature film of the comedy series ‘FC The Champions’
came out, after being a true success story on Belgian television for more
than 20 years.
The film also became a big success and with its 725000 visitors, it
instantly
ended up in the top ten of the most viewed Belgian films ever.
A second film would have to follow soon after, and had to be even more
ambitious. Especially since one of the top directors from Belgium was
taken on board: Jan Verheyen.
With 12 feature films on his resume, he is one of the most productive
filmmakers of the country. Jan has always been a big fan of ‘FC The
Champions’ and his aim is to make this film even more attractive to a
wide audience.
Why filming abroad?
One of the most important ways to upgrade an audiovisual production, is
to increase the ‘production value’. This has a lot to do with the locations
of the film shoot. Because of the fact that the TV series was made mainly
