This specifications covers / defines the minimum packing and preservation requirements for equipment and materials for PTTEP Project Package for Pilot Project and procedure for protecting material and equipment during shipment and storage at the job site. This specification procedure also cover Ship loose Packing and Preservation
The packing standards as outlined in these specifications are for ocean shipments only and do not apply to airfreight shipments. Vendor’s standards domestic packing shall be provided for air shipments. The contractor shall responsible for marking and packing other “ship-loose” items in accordance with PTTEP Specifications and satisfaction. As a minimum requirement, all ship-loose items shall be packed and marked as follows:
a. Metal containers shall be provided for valves, stud bolts, gasket other small components as may be required. The material shall be adequately protected against the ingress of water and the wooden crates shall be sealed.
b. Metal containers shall be provided for pipe spool and pipe supports with steel banding to secure the items. All spools and supports shall be identified by their piece numbers with stenciled paint markings.
c. Handrails, stairways and ship-loose gratings shall be shipped in metal racks and secured with steel banding. Handrails shall be identified by piece marks with metal tags to aid offshore installation.
The contractors shall ensure proper protection of installed equipment and ship-loose items during sea transportation to offshore installation site. Contractor shall preserve all equipment, flow lines and piping valves, accessories, handrails, etc, in accordance with PTTEP Specifications and satisfaction.
2.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

common logic on behalf of packers to determine if physical characteristics of items being packaged will required more than these minimum standards to ensure they reach at their destinations in excellent safe and operational conditions0
