In comparing the fertility of frozen semen to fresh
semen when used concomitantly on the same farm
(2009–2011), the data in Table 4 are presented. In this
case the fresh semen farrowing rate and mean (±SEM)
TBN was greater (P < 0.05) than the frozen semen farrowing rate and mean (±SEM) TBN (85.6% compared with 81.1%
and 13.8 ± 3.6 compared with 13.0 ± 4.0, respectively). The
fresh pooled semen sourced from a Landrace genetic line
while frozen semen from individual boars sourced from a
Yorkshire genetic line and prevented the effect of service
