The root of the amusement park began in Europe during the medieval times. Back in those times were pleasure gardens with were a forerunner of today's amusement parks, they were set up on the outskirts of major European cities with live entertainment ,fireworks, dancing and even amusement rides and remained popular until the 1700s. Political unrest forced many to close but few remained open. For example Bakker in Copenhagen which opened in 1583 and is now the world's oldest operating.
