Best thing about Kacha was the location. It is roughly in the middle of White Sand Beach area so you can mostly just walk to shops and restaurants. The sandy beach starts from Kacha to north making Kacha a good base for beach holiday as well.
The hotel has two zones and they are on different sides of the road. Both zones have pools, hillside has also a water-slide which is nice for kids. We had two rooms - a family suite (hillside) and a sea-view deluxe building room (beach-side). Hillside benefits include an easily accessible pool from the family rooms (ground level) and a water slide while beach-side is, naturally, close to beach, has a beautiful view and is quieter. The hillside pool is in the center of the complex so you'll need to tolerate noise.
Note: as of July 2014 they had demolished the bungalows and other buildings that had constituted the northern half of seaside, and were in process of building new ones, so any review related to those rooms is not valid anymore.
The rooms were nice and clean, although the family room had a bad smell and both rooms would benefit from fresher color bathroom tiles. Friendly staff as well. Pool bars seemed to be unstaffed most of the time which was inconvenient, but there's a supermarket quite close so we got our ice creams and beverages from there (not that there would have been ice cream in the pool bar anyways). Breakfast was quite ok even though it was marketed as American breakfast - there were also fruits, salads and Thai foods available.
