The historical park is an extremely popular visitor attraction today. The Phimai Historical Park is famous for housing some of the most important ruined Khmer temples in Thailand. Most of the structures are considered to be built about a thousand years ago, by the people of Brahmanic culture, but this is not sure. Usually the buildings have three to five stories and are built of sandstone or/and brick.
The central sanctuary is surrounded by numerous temples and statues. All of them are breathtaking and attract dozens of visitors every year. Prasat Hin Phimai is considered to be Thailand’s largest sandstone sanctuary. It occupies almost the central part of the ancient city of Phimai. As you can see, these buildings are unique and valuable sights of the country. Therefore, it is not surprising at all that today the structures are protected, making part of this historical park.
