At other times, people buy products to get the attention of other people. A particular car, for example, a Mercedes benz might be chosen because a business person is trying to prove that he or she is rich. For a similar reason, a convertible is chosen because a young male wants to prove that he is so exciting; a four-wheeled drive wagon is bought (also by a male) because he thinks it is adventurous. Other purchases are for pleasure rather than need. A package tour to Maldives or tickets to a concert by a well-known superstar are example of this kind of emotional motive or reason for buying.
