I like Som Tum or what we called in English as Papaya Salad. Papaya Salad is a popular dish from the North Eastern part of Thailand (the largely rural Isan region) that combines spicy, sour and sweet flavors to make a classic dish. The meal is quite simple to make. The main ingredients are shredded green papaya, chopped green beans, tomato, dried prawns, unsalted roasted peanuts, Chilies, garlic and lime juice. These are all pounded together in a mortar using a pestle. The sound it makes is "Pok Pok". I like to eat Papaya Salad because it is a non-fat dish. The ingredients are mainly vegetables, therefore, it is also healthy and, then Green papaya salads have medicinal properties as well.
