Site Manager’s Assistant Role (Don)
- Familiarize oneself with all new projects coming in after survey stage and go through all details carefully and identity any apparent issues or problems.
- Site visits to achieve the following;
o Familiarize oneself with the site.
o Make contact with the contractor and discuss all the configurations.
o Identify issues with delivery, loading and installation.
o Explain to the contractor what is needed from their side, such as, openings finished to a satisfactory standard that will not allow water ingress, subsil preparation, additional works needed to beams to enable the Fletcher system to work properly and details regarding working hours etc.
o Arrange subils and subsil installation.
o Final site measure.
o Site check a few days before delivery to ensure site is ready for installation.
- Checking the site after installation and being extremely critical of all works from installer before signing handover document.
- Arranging a full water test of every window and door to ensure the frames are watertight.
- Keeping a log on every project through the means of Smart Sheet. This involves:
o Updating every change and incident of the project in question
o Making comments before going to site, such as, what is the purpose of the visit, who is going, who is going to be met on site etc.
o Making comments after going to site, such as, what was achieved, who was met, who went, what is the next step for this project etc.
o Every detail should be logged, including, actual delivery date, issues on site, handover date etc.
- Replying to all internal and external e-mails within 2 hours and answering all calls or calling back immediately.
- Helping and assisting Installers with their day-to-day problems on site.
- Developing new methods and techniques to improve the process and increase the standards of installation.
- Supervising Installers to ensure D&W high standards are being met and problems are kept to a minimum.
