This chapter presents the study findings, study conclusions, and scope and limitations of the inquiry related to the research question: How can Jewish Family Service Calgary enhance teamwork and collaborative capacity within their organization? The following three sub-questions sought to inform and support the research question and were used as a framework to generate ideas and discussion:
1. What does teamwork and collaborative capacity mean to the current teams within the Jewish Family Service Calgary organization?
2. What are the strengths of the teams in relation to teamwork and collaborative capacity?
3. What are the challenges or opportunities to build upon existing teamwork and collaborative capacity?
To meet the challenge of limited funding and increased programs and services JFSC team members needed to examine their strengths and look for opportunities to build upon existing teamwork and collaborative capacity. This project looked at ways in which all the JFSC teams could enhance teamwork and collaborative capacity to strengthen the organization in a meaningful and sustainable way.
The study findings are reported for each of the three overarching themes: enhance teamwork and collaborative capacity, improve face-to-face communication, and build relationships within the organization. A summary of the overarching themes and subthemes generated by the research participants are presented in Table 1. To protect the anonymity of the participants, I referenced their input and direct quotations under the general headings of survey (S) and interview (I).
