3. Results
Effects of different dietary prebiotic fructooligosaccharide levels
on the growth performance and feed utilization are shown in
Table 1. Compared to the control treatment, fish fed on 1% FOS
supplemented diet displayed (P < 0.05) improved final weight,
body weight increase (BWI), percent body weight increase (PBWI),
specific growth rate (SGR), protein efficiency ratio (PER) and feed
conversion ratio (FCR). Survival rate did not significantly differ
between the treatments (P > 0.05); however, FOS administration
resulted in lower survival.
