g. Model 1 involves non-competitive
adsorption of hydrogen and d-glucose; Model 2 is
based on competitive adsorption of molecular hydrogen
and d-glucose; and Model 3 assumes competitive
adsorption of atomically chemisorbed hydrogen and
d-glucose. Albeit no statistic discrimination could be
made between these models, there is a slight preference
for Model 3. Model 2 seems unlikely since it
involves a reaction with molecularly adsorbed hydrogen.
Further, only Model 3 predicts an entropy loss
for the adsorption of d-glucose, which is thermodynamically
expected.
