Assuring beef safety and quality on a farm is more important than placing injections in the right location, following withdrawal times, and simply attending a beef quality assurance (BQA) meeting/training session. The BQA program is a voluntary program that is managed within each state; however, the goals of the program remain the same nationwide. On-farm beef quality starts with producers taking an active role in understanding the goal of the BQA program and then implementing the guidelines in their production unit. The program includes assessment of the management practices used, continual improvement, and following the producer code for animal care
