Over time the program implementers organized refresher training sessions at
the request of the teachers. The goals of the refresher training are to identify problems
and obstacles for implementation and to provide advanced training to teachers. These
are now coordinated by the network committees and are usually scheduled two or
three times during the implementation of the IPM curriculum by participating schools.
The refresher training sessions are now integrated as part of the program.
Principal development. During the initial years of implementation, teachers
often complained of inadequate support within their schools. They expressed
