equilibria of systems composed of rice bran oil, free fatty acids,
ethanol and water. The equivalent fatty acid was the main
pseudo-compound that moved from the oil phase to the alcohol
phase. In a system in which only this pseudo-component is transferred
from one phase to the other, the use of concentrations and
dispersed phase mass flows calculated on a fatty acid-free basis
guarantees that the equilibrium and operating curves are linear
