I disagree with the statement. People who earn lot of money can be successful. It is not obvious, but people who don't earn a lot of money can be successful too.
I think it is important to define what it means for one to be successful? And how can we evaluate success between two different people?
The answer to both questions is not unique. There are as many answers as people on Earth. In my opinion, people who attain their personal goals are successful. And it is very unlikely that two people will have identical goals. Success can be expressed in several ways such as helping the poor, becoming famous, co-workers praising you at work, and starting a family.
Moreover, in life, your goals evolve every day or at every stage of your life, because you meet people and you develop new aspirations. But, if you don't attain your objectives, are you truly successful ? …
Secondly, where does money fit into success?
Earning a lot of money can be an important goal for some people. But it is not only a goal to attain; money also affords one the luxury of realizing other goals . Especially in our society , money has an important place in our daily lives. For example, if your main goal is to travel around the world, inevitably you need money , because money is at the center of the world system. But no amount of money can help you achieve your goals regarding relationships, love, family or health.
From my point of view, I will feel successful when I find a passionate job that will permit me to conciliate my personal life with my professional career.
To conclude, earning a lot of money can help us be successful but being successful doesn't always mean earning lot of money.
