Main effects are reported, as no significant (P > 0.1) VAC × GS interaction effect was observed for any variable tested. During days 0 to 7 postweaning, pigs receiving GS had greater ADG, ADFI and feed:gain than those not receiving GS regardless if they were vaccinated or not (GS effect, P < 0.05; Table 3). Vaccinated pigs had lower (P < 0.05) ADFI on days 13 and 14; and pigs receiving GS had greater (P < 0.05) ADFI on days 13, 14 and 15 postweaning. Similarly, VAC pigs had lower (P < 0.05) ADG and ADFI during days 14 to 22 (data not shown) and overall experiment than non-VAC pigs. Non-vaccinated pigs had reduced (P < 0.05) feed efficiency during days 0 to 32, but were heavier (0.52 kg; P < 0.05) at day 32 than VAC pigs. During the overall experiment ADFI improved (P < 0.05) when pigs received GS compared to those not receiving GS.
