70th Anniv. of Victory of Anti-Japanese Aggression War
People across China were glued to their TV screens to catch the September 3 military parade in Beijing.
Professor Yang Yunzhong is a former member of the Preparatory Committee of the Macao Special Administrative Region. He lived in the northeast China during the wartime, and witnessed the crimes committed by the Japanese invaders.
Yang said the September 3 parade served as a window for the world to know more about China's determination in pursuing peaceful development.
"It was a historical moment. I believe not only me, but all the people in the spectator seats feel the same. Not only the troops, but more than 50,000 friends from all walks of life came in good order and watched the parade. It's only our country can do it. I don't think we are flexing our military muscles to the rest; we are only demonstrating our philosophy of development and our wisdom," Yang said.
