Distribution of fruit yield within the canopy
Fruit yield of unit area depends on individual tree yield.
If every tree has high yield and the fruits are well
distributed, the yield will be high and the quality be good
(Liu et al. 2005). The distribution of peach fruit in the
open-centered shape is shown in Figs.2 and 3. Fig.2
sho,ws that the fruit was mainly distributed between 1.
5-3.0 m of canopy height, with the highest yields
between 2.5-3.0 m of canopy height. These values
indicated that peaches benefit from sunlight and the
fruits were mainly distributed in the middle and upper
parts of the tree. Fig.3 shows the distribution of peach
fruit in a horizontal plane. It indicates that fruits were
evenly distributed in the inner, middle and outer parts
