Emulsions were circulated for 10 min (approximately 200 mL/min) before being collected into glass jars.
The 4 emulsion batches were mixed together after collection, and kept on ice until sodium azide (2 to 5 mg/L) was added.
The emulsions were then separated into five 155-mL batches, to make 1 control emulsion, 2 sage extract emulsions, and 2 rosmarinic acid emulsions.
