Dear Allstars,
There has been a rise in cases of staff wearing their lanyard on board the aircraft while on duty travel and even during off-duty (as a normal guest).
Wearing your lanyard on board might pose a few concerns:
Trigger safety / security concerns
Cause confusion among our guests in the event of an emergency, as having the lanyard on you signifies you are able to solve operational matters on board, and guests will seek assistance / advice from you.
As professionals, we must understand that our lanyard or other ID have been issued to assist us with our official duties. Therefore, we use them only for the purposes for which they were intended.
Please also note that by wearing lanyards with our staff ID and airport pass outside of our office and permitted areas, we are also putting ourselves at a bigger risk of losing these important identification items.
Hence, please do not wear your lanyard on-board during duty travel and holiday (as a normal guest).
Thank you.
