2) Ask for the input of team members across all
backgrounds: In any group, members are sensitive to their
own professional/personal status as it relates to others. People
will compare themselves to others as it relates to age, gender,
appearance, education, professional designation. The more
difficult it is to transcend status differences (such as
professional designation) the more likely there will be
differences in a persons comfort to speak up in a
group…particularly if the difference relates to the group
objectives. As such, team leaders should ask for input from all
team members, identifying individuals specifically.
