A. aegypti Rockefellerwasused as the standard susceptible strain
in all tests. This colony has been maintained in the Department’s
insectary for over 10 years.
A. aegypti Modified-Rock, a strain with an incipient temephos
resistance (RR = 2.0) was used for resistance reversal experiments
only.
A. aegypti from Araripina were collected again in October 2008
(after more than 4 years of continuous exposure to temephos), in
order to measure resistance evolution in the field, in comparison
to the one achieved in the laboratory.
