Screwed them! They never understood how much resentment could be sent to their children if they stood on their own opinion with none of them had a will to yield. What a pathetic spouse—or perhaps she was the one who didn’t understand about them here.
Bollocks!
Momoi turned her gaze to a piece of paper on her hand. It was written of her step brother’s address. She had told her parents that she was going to live with Nijimura Shuzo if they still acted childish like that. She snorted, now she understood enough the reason Nijimura left to Tokyo.
"Please, thinking of it again, Satsuki," her mother begged to her last night, "You never live in Tokyo, I don’t want you get any trouble if you live there."
"But you both break the promise. I’ve said that I will stay here with you just in one condition if you both could stop that attitude. But see now, I don’t see any of you did it."
"Satsuki…," then her mother glared to her husband, "Why you just being calm like that?! Just because she’s my daughter from my ex husband doesn’t mean you have to stay calm, Satoshi. Say something!"
"What?! Do you want me to ban her? She’s 18 now. Besides, she has Shuzo in Tokyo. I believe my son will do anything to protect Satsuki even though she is just his step sister."
"How could you—"
"Stop it!" she yelled before grabbed her suitcase, "I leave."
She closed her eyes after the flashback in her mind was gone. She leaned against the taxi’s windows. It was still morning when she arrived at train station. Unfortunately, Nijimura said that he couldn’t pick her at the station because he said that his lecturer in college was going to come this morning to his apartment.
Well, she couldn’t say anything unless saying ‘it’s okay’. At least, her brother still wanted to share space with her during her times in Tokyo. Besides, Nijimura said that she was accepted in medical faculty in Tokyo University.
The taxi stopped right in front of a big building. Finally she would meet her step brother again after he left home for 3 years. She paid the taxi and then brought her things into the buildings. She saw an old man was walking around the small park of the building. She should be grateful that grandpa knew Nijimura so well and then he told her where was Nijimura’s apartment.
She was leaving after said thank you to grandpa, entering the lift and pressed the button of 7.
"1611…"
"Got it!" she cried out happily. She almost knocked the door in front of her before finally it opened itself. She gasped when she saw a men stood in front of her. And it seemed that men also gasped with her existence that was so sudden.
He had red hair with both his eyes had same colors with his hair. His skin was pale like he was getting cold. The way he stared at her like a lion was going to prey a rabbit.
"Oh, sorry!" she said and making him also came back from his shock, "I think I came to the wrong apartment. I don’t know that you live here. I will leave—"
"Satsuki? Is that you?" Nijimura came out from the apartment and he was followed by older men behind him.
"Oniisan!" she hugged him and Nijimura patted her back softly, "Nice to see you again!"
"Well, yeah," he chuckled.
"Your sister?" the older men asked Nijimura and got his answer when Nijimura nodded.
"Exactly, she’s my step sister. My father remarried again with Satsuki’s mother 5 years ago. Just telling you if you confused with our difference physical. Look at you and Akashi."
"We’re almost like you," the older men made a thin smile. "It’s nice. You both seem so close each other."
"Thanks," he said, "Oh, as long as you’re still here let me introduce you both with my sister. Satsuki, he is Harasawa-sensei, my lecturer in college.”
"Nice to meet you, Miss," Harasawa said.
"So do I, Sir," she smiled.
"And meanwhile this is Akashi Seijurou, Harasawa-sensei's son,” Nijimura said. Momoi was turning her gaze toward Akashi who still kept silent. His eyes stared at her deeply like he was learning about herself but failed. And honestly, the way he saw her was really annoying her.
"Akashi…," Harasawa whispered to him and he gasped.
"Oh, I apologize," Akashi said.
Momoi tried to hold out her hand. “… hello, I’m Momoi Satsuki. It’s pleasure to see you, Akashi-kun.”
He stared at her hand before he grabbed her hand softly like he was attempting to not let his hand hurt her hand. When their palm touched each other, they gasped again on the sly. Momoi felt something odd when their hand touched like this. And his hand … so cold.
Is he okay?
Suddenly Akashi let go of her hand.
"We have to go now," he whispered to Harasawa, "I leave, Nijimura-senpai.”
Momoi confused with his attitude. It seemed he was so rude to her, why he should act like she was annoying him? It should be her who felt in that way. Moreover after he stared at her like a maniac.
"I’m sorry with his habit," Harasawa said after Akashi lost from their gaze, "If so, I think I have to go now too. See you next week at campus."
Shortly afterwards, Nijimura helped her to bring her things into his apartment. His apartment was-thankfully-so cozy and Momoi thought she would be comfortable to stay here.
"You know, it’s weird to see him like that," he said suddenly from the kitchen.
"Him? Who?"
"Of course I’m talking about Akashi," Nijimura told her as he came from the kitchen with both his hands were bringing two cups of coffee.
"Oh, Akashi-kun,” she muttered, “I don’t know why but he seems like he hates me. Do you know why he stared at me like I’m … loathsome?”
He snorted funnily. “Why you think like that? Akashi is a polite person and if he hates you he will choose to abandon your hand when you were going to shake his hand.”
"Well, I hope he doesn’t hate me, if so."
