Recently, biopretreatment has been used before pyrolysis. Yang et al. [5,6] found that biopretreatment with white rot fungi
could accelerate thermal degradation processes, by deconstructing the complex structure and by reducing the structural integrity and complexity, and improve the low-temperature pyrolysis of biomass, by increasing the pyrolysis products of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Due to its mild condition of application, its low energy consumption, and less environmental contamination, biopretreatment is being a promising pretreatment method.
