There are different types of gastro-intestinal diseases which
are associated with the inflammation of the gastro-intestinal tract
resulting in abdominal pains and cramps of varying degrees
(Barbara, 1998; Naik and Sketh, 1976) and infection from different
bacterial strains is the most common gastrointestinal disorders.
It has been reported that infections are responsible for the
deaths of up to 3 million pre-school children each year (Farthing
and Kelly, 2007). WHO estimated approximately 2 billion cases
of diarrhoea worldwide per year in 2009, causing 6.9% of deaths
overall (WHO, 2009).
