For measuring the composition of the producer gas
and its tar content, a gas sampling train was used to
draw gas from the outlet of the gasier to an on-line
gas analysis system through a tar condenser. As shown
in Figs. 5 and 6, the gas pipe, through which producer
gas was drawn from the gasier, was heated by an electric
heater and well insulated to avoid condensation
of tar present in the producer gas. To remove the ne
ash from the gas, a ceramic wool lter was installed
at the entrance of the stainless steel tube connecting
the tar condenser. A counter-Jow glass condenser was
used to collect the tar from producer gas inside a glass
Jask by using ice-cooled water. At the outlet of the
condenser, a gas Jow meter was attached to measure
the sampling gas Jow rate. A vacuum pump was used
to extract the sampled gas.
